Shasta Lake Protection Fire District

Also known as Station 42 the Shasta Lake Fire Protection District actually consists of 3 stations. Formed on December 9, 1994 the District consists of what was previously Central Valley Fire Protection District (Station 42 with 2 stations), Summit City Fire Protection District (Station 40 with 1 station), and small portions of Buckeye Fire Protection District, Mountain Gate Community Services District, and Shasta County CSA #1 (Shasta County Fire Department). This reorganization took place to provide a single fire protection agency to provide fire protection, EMS, and other services as needed to the City of Shasta Lake, California which was incorporated on July 2, 1993. The Fire District is governed by it's own 5 member Board of Directors which are elected at large from the public within the boundaries of the fire district. Besides covering the entire City of Shasta Lake the Fire District also provides direct protection to an area of about 1 square mile to the east of the City along with automatic and mutual aid to adjacent jurisdictions.
