Carla
Thompson, Development Services Director |
Carla L. Thompson has worked in the area of
land use and environmental planning with the City of Shasta Lake
for over six years. Her duties include supervision of the Building
Official, Building Inspector, Permit Center Manager, Code
Enforcement Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, and Administrative
Assistant.
She was involved in the City’s
comprehensive General Plan Update in 1999, and is currently
coordinating completion of the Housing Element Update for the
City. Recent accomplishments including developing Village
Commercial and City Center Commercial zoning districts along
Shasta Dam Boulevard to encourage mixed uses (commercial and
residential) within the City’s Central Business District;
coordinating adoption of Design Guidelines for the City;
developing application checklists to simplify the permit process
for land owners and developers; and completing a comprehensive
review of the proposed Goat Ranch Quarry project. She is currently
working with the Planning Commission to update the City’s Tree
Conservation Ordinance and identify additional policies to be
presented to City Council for consideration.
Ms. Thompson graduated from Simpson
College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.
She also graduated from U.C. Davis with a certificate in Land Use
and Environmental Planning. |
